Domaine Raymond Usseglio Chateauneuf du Pape 2015

17 years of hard work in the fields of the French winegrowers was the precondition for the Italian immigrant Francis Usseglio in 1948 to be able to found what has today become one of the most award-winning wine domains in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. In 1931 he had turned his back on unemployment and fascism in Italian Piedmont, and in 1948 he used his savings to acquire the first hectares of forest cleared into vineyards. In 1963, his son Raymond Usseglio established his own vineyard and acquired a number of fields that house some of the oldest vines in the area. In 1999, his son Stephane took over the wine production, and he has repeatedly produced wines that have been rewarded by Robert Parker with up to 99 points. From 2015, the property is certified and converted to both organic and biodynamic production.
