In celebration of Fanø Ship's Rum founder Lars J. Schou's 80th birthday, we proudly present a new treasure from our rum cellars - The Captain. A tribute to Lars and his passion for the perfect ship's rum.
This special rum has been a long time in the making and has been carefully spiced and aged, just as Lars would have wished. After 5 years of aging in oak barrels, The Captain is ready to elevate the tasting experience to new heights. With an alcohol percentage of 43%, it offers complex and full-bodied flavor notes of wood, tobacco, and subtle sweetness.
The Captain has its roots in Jamaica, where it was distilled, and it has subsequently undergone a unique refinement on Fanø. This refinement is a two-stage aging process, first involving natural flavor enhancers like Fanø Heather Honey, sea buckthorn, and Madagascar vanilla. The experience is then perfected with an additional aging period in port wine barrels.
