Martin Doorly founded the rum brand Doorly's in the early 1920s. Martin Doorly evolved into Doorly's Macaw Rum, which became the first bottle of rum exported from the island. In 1992, Martin Doorly's Rum was purchased by RL SEALE.
The distillery where Doorley's is mixed and stored today is the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados - an approx. 350-year-old distillery, where the oldest records suggest that the special rum-wine-mill associated with the sugar factory has been in production since 1730.
In keeping with good Barbados tradition, no sugar is added to sweeten the rum. The distillation method, with both pot style and column kettle, ensures a natural sweetness and a full-bodied taste.
