Springbank is unique among Scotlands´s distilleries. Every part of the process from malting to bottling is carried out at the distillery. Unlike others whiskies Springbank Single Malt Whisky is free of artificial colouring, also it is not chill filtered. This will cause slight natural haze form when it is cold but this will disapear when the temperatura returns to normal.

Springbank is one of Scotland’s most renowned and beloved distilleries, known for its uncompromising quality and artisanal approach to whisky production. The distillery produces three distinct whisky styles:

Springbank: The classic style with a light peat smoke (approx. 10-15 ppm) and a unique 2.5 times distillation.
Longrow: A heavily peated variant (50-55 ppm), double-distilled for intensity and depth.
Hazelburn: A completely unpeated, triple-distilled whisky with a smooth and elegant character.

Springbank produces only 175,000 liters of whisky per year, of which 80% is Springbank, 10% is Longrow, and 10% is Hazelburn. This limited production and dedication to quality have earned the distillery a cult status among whisky enthusiasts worldwide.

Duncan Taylor Rare Auld Scotch Whisky

This exclusive release was distilled in March 2000 and bottled on June 20, 2018, resulting in a refined complexity that can only be achieved through 18 years of maturation. With a natural cask strength of 49.2% and bottled without chill filtration or added coloring, this is whisky in its purest form.
Only 99 bottles of this rare gem exist, making it a true collector’s item. It has been aged in a single cask (cask no. 63129) to ensure an exceptional tasting experience, where every nuance unfolds in its full glory.

Longrow 2023

First distilled in 1973 Longrow is a double distilled heavy peat single malt produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The malt is peat dried for up to 48 hours to give the whiskey a unique Campbeltown style smoky character. Less than 100 barrels of Longrow are filled each year.

As this whiskey is not chill-filtered, a natural haze can form when it wants to, but this will disappear when the temperature returns to normal.

Hazelburn 12 years old Oloroso Cask Whisky
An Exceptional Campbeltown Experience

Hazelburn 12 years old Oloroso Cask Whisky is an exquisite single malt from the heart of Campbeltown – a gem for whisky lovers who appreciate quality, tradition, and character. This exclusive whisky is triple distilled, providing an extra smooth and refined taste experience. With no artificial colouring and non-chill filtered, it retains its natural depth and complexity. At lower temperatures, a slight natural haze may appear, but this disappears when the temperature normalises – a sign of authenticity and quality.

Michell´s Glengyle Ltd. are very proud to be continuing and adding to the great Campbeltown Distilling and the choice of name reflect that. Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic ´Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain´ which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown stands.

Kilkerran is througth to be a suitable name for a new Campbeltown Malt since it was unusual for a old Campbeltown distilleries to be called after a Glen, a custom more usually associated with the Speyside region.

In 2000, Hedley Wright, who also owns Springbank, managed to purchase the buildings with the aim of re-establishing the distillery. It took four years to find the necessary equipment and to have the buildings renovated. Some of the distillery's equipment is new, while some has been acquired from partly Craigellachie and partly the closed highland distillery Ben Wyvis, which operated in the period from 1965-77 at the grain distillery Invergordon.
The distillery was originally named Glengyle, but unfortunately it is not currently possible to bottle the whiskey under the distillery's name. There is already a blend with the same name, which is why the name Kilkerran was chosen as the name for the whiskey from Glengyle.
