Highland Single Malt Whisky

Hidden deep in the east Highland hils, The Glendronach Distillery has been quietly perfecting sherry wood maturation sine 1826. Our founder, James Allardice, built his distillery in the fertile landscape of the Forgue valley and named it "GlenDronach" - Which means " valley of brambles" in Scots Gaelic. Here, he discovered the rich depths of sherry wood maturation, marrying Scottish spirit to Spanish cask.

Little has changed over the centuries, our craftsmen using the same iron mash tun, wooden washback and saxophone-shaped copper pot stills as their forefathers did. To honnour the Glendronach´s early whisky making herritage, Master Blender Rachel Barrie has crafted the Glendronach Traditionally Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky using the same principles laid down by our founder almost two centuries ago. At this time, it was traditionally practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of barley malting, creating a rich and warm, earthy smoke.

Interwoven with robust Highland character, The Glendronach Traditionally Peated has all the full-bodied richness of the Glendronach. Matured in the finest Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry and port casks, this rare peated expression from The Glendronach present notes of Highland toffee, treacle and smoked bramble, with a lingering, rich and earthy finish.
