Today, Marchesi Antinori is a member of Primum Familiae Vini, an association of 12 of the most prestigious family-run wineries in the world. It doesn't get any bigger than that.

Pian delle Vigne is located six kilometers southwest of Montalcino and extends over 184 hectares of land, of which 65 hectares are planted with vineyards approx. 130 meters above sea level and with a south-west slope. The wine Pian delle Vigne must be seen as Marchesi Antinori's deeply personal interpretation of a prestigious and traditional wine such as Brunello di Montalcino. The Antinori family bought the property in 1995, the same year that the first Brunello Pian delle Vigne was harvested. They began to age in large casks, which beautifully preserve the integrity of the Sangiovese grape and its characteristic, lively elegance.

Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione is produced exclusively from the best Sangiovese grapes that come from the estate of the same name in the heart of Chianti Classico. The area has been known for its wine production since the turn of the millennium - that is, the previous one! The vineyards stretch over soil rich in limestone with an average amount at an altitude of 300 meters. Production takes place in the historic cellars of Badia di Passignano from the 10th century.

2020 in Chianti Classico began with a mild and dry winter, and only in the last part of March was the winter characterized by a short cold period. The climatic conditions favored early budding in the vines. The relatively rainy and rather cool spring was preceded by a warm summer with a lot of rainfall, which allowed the bunches to grow and ripen optimally. The month of September, when the harvest began, was characterized by light rainfall, which favored the ripening of the grapes. The harvest began in the last ten days of September and ended in the first days of October.

This amarone from Bertani has aged in oak barrels for 6 years and then a minimum of 12 months in the bottle before release. They have been doing this for half a century, and the first time they produced this wine was in 1958, from Valpolicella. Bertani Domains consists of i.a. of these wineries: Bertani from the Veneto area, Trerose from the Tuscany district and San Leonino also from the Tuscany district. One of the best known and most legendary wine houses in Veneto, Italy, Bertani was founded in 1857 by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani.

After harvesting, the wine is aged for 24 months – at least 18 months in oak barrels and the remainder in stainless steel tanks. A careful selection of grapes is followed by vinification with skin contact for 10-12 days. Published in the 5th year after harvest, the wine is aged for at least 4 years, including 2 years in oak barrels of various sizes, mainly French oak barrels and partly in Slovenian oak barrels.

This wine is produced by the grapes Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Sangiovese (30%). The two varieties of grape are vinified separately and then mixed. The wine has been stored on steel tanks. It has a nice intense ruby red color and a lovely fresh scent of ripe fruits and a touch of spices. It is a pleasant wine with an incredibly soft and fruity taste as well as a good and long finish.

The grapes first fermented in steel tanks, and then the wine aged 18-24 months in French oak barrels before finally bottling. Bottle storage takes place a few months before release.
