Hutcheson Feuerheerd & Associados was founded in 1881 by two Britons, Thomas Page Hutcheson and Alexander Davidson Taylor. They passed to the Portuguese Barros family in the 1920s. In 1996 the company Hutcheson merged with Feuerheerd Bros. In 2006, the Sognevinus Group took over control of the vineyards and production.

The harvest of the grapes for this vintage 2019 from Niepoort started on September 2nd and ended in the month of October 2019. These 100% stemmed grapes were stomped in low granite vats in a granite mill to initiate fermentation. The brandy was subsequently added, after which the port rested over the winter. During the month of March 2020, the port wine was then moved to their cooler cellars, where the final blend of this vintage was poured into 550 liter casks, after which in July 2021 it was bottled.
