Château de Laubade Bas Armagnac 1997 AOP
Château de Laubade 1997 Bas Armagnac AOP is true French distilling art – a vintage Armagnac with depth, character and elegance. Distilled in 1997 and aged with patience in the château’s own casks in the heart of Gascony, this bottle represents the essence of Bas Armagnac: power, complexity and silky smooth maturity.
If you are looking for Armagnac 1997, Bas Armagnac AOP, Château de Laubade vintage Armagnac or an exclusive gift with the year, this is an obvious choice. A refined and personalized spirit – perfect as an anniversary gift, collector’s item or for the discerning connoisseur.
Single Estate – full control from field to bottle
Château de Laubade only produces single estate armagnac from its own 260 hectares of vineyards. The grapes consist of:
- 47% Ugni Blanc
- 30% Baco 22A
- 8% Folle Blanche
- 15% Colombard
Laubade is known for being the largest producer of the Baco grape, which adds a characteristic peppery spice and slightly smoky depth to the armagnac. The combination of grape varieties provides structure, aromatic finesse and great ageing potential.
Own barrels – Gascony’s best oak
Château de Laubade is the only Armagnachus with its own cooperage. The finest oak from the nearby Gascony forests is carefully selected and air-dried for at least three years before being turned into barrels. This uncompromising approach to cask quality is essential to the structure, complexity and balance of Armagnac.
The 1997 vintage has developed a harmonious and rounded character, where cask and distillate merge into an elegant whole.

Château de Laubade – World class from Gascony
Château de Laubade has been producing Armagnac since the early 1700s and achieved Château Appellation status as early as 1855. After a period of decline, the château was purchased in 1974 by Jean-Jacques Lesgourgues, who through determined efforts re-established the property as one of the absolute leading producers in Armagnac.
Today, Laubade is one of the largest and most recognized houses in the region. They are the only Armagnac producer to be named World Class Distillery three years in a row (2010, 2011 and 2012) by the World Spirits Award. Their Intemporel No. 5 was also named World’s Best Brandy at the San Francisco World Spirits in 2007 – a testament to their uncompromising quality.
