Grapes and vinification

Col di Sasso 2023 is made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese. The grapes are vinified separately to preserve their individual character and then blended into a harmonious whole. Aging in steel tanks emphasizes the wine’s fresh fruit, clean profile and vibrant expression.

The history of the house

Castello Banfi is one of Tuscany’s most renowned wineries and is beautifully located near Montalcino. Since its founding in 1978, the estate has evolved into one of Europe’s most advanced wineries, combining modern technology with proud Italian wine traditions.

The property comprises around 3,000 hectares of land, of which approximately 1,000 hectares are planted with vines. Castello Banfi has received numerous international awards and has been voted “Best Italian Winery” by Vinitaly 12 times. The historic 11th century fortress on the property now houses an exclusive restaurant and symbolizes the unique combination of history, innovation and passion for wine.
