Arran Flying Peacock 1999 #28 Single Malt 58.1%

Arran Flying Peacock 1999 #28 is a rare and coveted single malt whisky from the Isle of Arran Distillery. This exclusive bottling is part of the limited “Flying Peacock” series, where specially selected casks are bottled in small batches to highlight the distillery’s most distinctive whiskies.

The whisky was distilled on September 28, 1999 and bottled on October 21, 2009. It was matured in an Amontillado Sherry Butt, which gives the whisky a deep and complex sherry profile with both nutty and spicy nuances.

Only 709 bottles were bottled from cask number 28, making this release an attractive collector’s item for whisky enthusiasts. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.1%, the whisky delivers an intense and authentic experience.

Maturing in Amontillado sherry casks

Amontillado sherry casks are known for adding a special complexity to whisky. They add dried fruit notes, nutty nuances and an elegant spicy character that perfectly complements Arran’s fruity distillate.

The combination of Arran’s naturally fresh and fruity style with the deep sherry character creates a whisky with great depth, power and balance.

The whisky is non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, which means all the natural oils and aromas are retained in the bottle.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Rich and complex with notes of dried fruit, nuts, sherry, honey and a hint of spice.

Taste: Rich and powerful with layers of raisins, caramel, roasted nuts, spicy oak and ripe fruit.
