In this 2023 edition, the master blender has created a unique blend of aged rums from Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad and Grenada. The blend is complemented by a reserve of rums that were saved from the Master Blender’s Reserve 2022. This approach gives the rum added complexity and continuity between releases.

Each component of the blend is carefully selected from aged rums from each country. The different distillation methods, casks and climates create an exciting interplay of fruity, spicy and deep notes. The result is a rum that reflects both the diversity and history of the navy style.

The history of the house

Black Tot Rum is inspired by the historic rum ration that sailors in the British Royal Navy received every day for more than 300 years. The tradition ended on July 31, 1970 – a day that has since become known as Black Tot Day.

The Black Tot project was created to revive the legacy of navy rum. By blending rums from several Caribbean countries, the house creates modern interpretations of the classic navy style. The result is powerful, complex rums with deep historical roots.
