Château de Laubade 1986 Bas-Armagnac – Vintage Armagnac from single cask 48.5%

Château de Laubade 1986 Bas-Armagnac is liquid history from the heart of Gascony. A vintage Armagnac distilled in 1986 and first bottled on 27/05/2021, it is a powerful and authentic experience for connoisseurs seeking depth, terroir and true craftsmanship.

This vintage is made from Baco and Ugni Blanc grapes, which together provide structure, aromatic complexity and great ageing potential. Shortly after distillation, the owner family and Master Distiller select the most promising eaux-de-vie. Only the best batches are isolated for long aging.

The Armagnac has matured in cask no. 90024 in cellar no. 5, where time and wood have slowly developed its character. At 48.5% strength, it is intense, concentrated and balanced. It is a vintage that shows the strength of Bas-Armagnac: power, warmth and elegant maturity.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep amber with mahogany reflections.

Aroma: Dried fruit, prunes and roasted nuts. Notes of vanilla, cocoa and slightly spicy oak.

Taste: Rich and structured with dark caramel, candied fruit and fine tannins from the barrel. The Baco grape provides backbone and intensity.

Finish: Long, warm and persistent with spice, rancio and elegant wood.

Enjoy neat at room temperature in a spacious glass. Give it time – this 1986 vintage opens gradually and rewards patience.

The story of Château de Laubade

Château de Laubade is one of the most respected producers in Bas-Armagnac. It is the only Armagnac producer to have its own distillery on the property. This gives full control over the entire process from grape to bottle.

Carefully selected Gascony oak from nearby forests is used for the casks. The wood is air-dried for at least three years before being transformed into casks. This care ensures optimal maturation and contributes to the distinctive style of the house. The combination of tradition, terroir and slow aging makes Château de Laubade a reference in vintage Armagnac.
