Double maturation – ex-bourbon and ex-sherry

Principia is double matured to achieve maximum depth and balance. First, the rum spends 3 years in ex-bourbon casks, which contribute classic notes of vanilla, caramel and warm oak. This is followed by 6 years in ex-sherry casks, adding darker layers of dried fruit, nuts, spice and a vinous richness.

The entire maturation is done 100% in the tropics of Barbados, resulting in a more intense barrel influence and concentrated flavor profile than European aging.
