This release, launched in March 2021, is distilled, fermented and aged exclusively at Foursquare in Barbados – a seal of quality in itself. Shibboleth is a blend of distillate from double copper pot stills and continuous column stills, providing a perfect balance of structure, depth and elegance. A full 16 years of aging in ex-bourbon casks in the tropical climate provides intensity, concentration and remarkable complexity.

At 56% alcohol, it delivers both power and precision – a rum that is razor-sharp in the glass and unfolds layer by layer. This is real Barbados rum with no added sugar or unnecessary adjustments – pure, unadulterated quality.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Deep and complex with notes of vanilla, toasted oak, caramel, ripe banana and a hint of coconut from the ex-bourbon casks.

Flavor: Rich and concentrated with dark caramel, toffee, spice and dried fruit. The pot still distillate provides structure and depth, while the column distillate adds elegance and balance.

Finish: Long, warm and persistent with notes of cocoa, oak and light spicy sweetness.
