Giribaldi Barolo DOCG Ravera Piemonte 2018 – Elegant and classic Barolo from Novello
Giribaldi Barolo DOCG Ravera 2018 is an impressive red wine from one of the most prestigious areas of Piedmont. This is a classic Barolo made from the Nebbiolo grape, where power, elegance and complexity come together. The wine comes from the Ravera estate in Novello, which is known for producing some of the most refined and structured Barolo wines in the area.
Barolo is often called “the king of wine and the wine of kings” and this release from Azienda Agricola Mario Giribaldi clearly shows why. It combines deep fruit, elegant spices and silky tannins. The result is a wine with both character and finesse that evolves beautifully in the glass.
The Ravera vineyard is located at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level. The soil consists of marl and clay, which gives the Nebbiolo grapes a beautiful structure and aromatic depth. At the same time, the good sun exposure ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. The result is a wine with intensity, freshness and great balance.
The vinification follows classic Barolo traditions. The grapes undergo a longer maceration of around 20 days at controlled temperatures. During fermentation, the must is pumped over the lees several times to extract color, structure and aroma. After fermentation, the wine first rests in stainless steel tanks and then ages for two years in French oak barrels. Finally, the wine is given time for further maturation in the bottle in Giribaldi’s cellars.
The result is a Barolo with great depth and complexity. The wine can be enjoyed now after a good oxygenation, but it also has great ageing potential. Over time it will develop even more complexity and elegance.

The story behind Giribaldi
Azienda Agricola Mario Giribaldi dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The winery is located in the heart of Piedmont and is currently run by the third generation of the Giribaldi family. The family works with great respect for the traditions and terroir of the area.
Giribaldi was among the first producers in Italy to achieve organic certification. Since 2004, all vineyards have been organically cultivated. The philosophy is simple: sustainable cultivation and respect for nature produce wines with greater purity, character and quality.
