Tasting notes

Color: Very deep, almost black with violet reflections.
Aroma: Concentrated aromas of red and dark berries, accompanied by delicate floral notes and subtle spice.
Flavor: Intense and layered with massive fruit, pronounced tannins and great balance. The finish is long, firm and promising.

The craftsmanship behind the 2018 vintage

The harvest began on October 1, 2018. The grapes were hand-picked and placed in 20 kg boxes to preserve quality. After destemming, 24 hours of cold maceration in stainless steel tanks followed. This extracted color, aroma and structure from the skins.

Fermentation lasted three days, using the grapes’ own natural yeast strains. This emphasized the character of the terroir. After fermentation, brandy was added as tradition dictates.

The wine was first aged for one year in large oak barrels, called balseiro. Here it gained complexity and depth. It was then aged for a further year in stainless steel tanks. This gave it balance and precision before it was bottled.

Aging potential

Kranemann Vintage 2018 is a wine with a future. It can be enjoyed young for its power and fruit. Over time, it will develop notes of dried fruit, cocoa and spices. The structure will become more rounded and the whole even more harmonious.
