This exclusive Plantation Rum Single Cask El Salvador 8 years is a special bottling selected for the 14th edition of Eriksen Vinhandel. This is a rum for connoisseurs and collectors, where complex barrel aging, high alcoholic strength and an elegant finish create a rum with depth, character and a long taste experience.

The rum originates from El Salvador and was distilled in 2015 at Ingenio La Cabana Distillery. After distillation, an exciting maturation journey begins. First, the rum matures in a tropical climate in bourbon barrels, where it acquires warm notes of vanilla, caramel and spice. It is then shipped to France where it is further aged in cognac casks from Maison Ferrand, adding structure, depth and elegant barrel notes.

To top it off, the rum is aged in a red Pineau des Charentes wine barrel. This finish adds an extra dimension of fruit, spice and vinous nuances that make the rum both complex and very exciting in the glass. At 48.6% alcohol, you get a rum with plenty of power and aroma, but still with great balance and a silky smooth texture.

It’s a rum that really shows the strength of the Plantation series: the combination of tropical aging, European barrel finish and carefully selected casks, which together create a rum with great depth and personality.
