Louis Roederer Collection 243 Brut – Modern champagne with depth, balance and character

Louis Roederer Collection 243 Brut is not just another Champagne – it is a living expression of the house’s philosophy, craftsmanship and history. Created for the discerning connoisseur seeking both complexity and elegance, this cuvée delivers a top-class Champagne experience. Freedom and tradition meet in a style that is both contemporary and timeless.

The Collection series marks a new chapter for Louis Roederer, with each edition reflecting a specific harvest while building on the house’s unique reserve wines. The result is Champagne with personality, nerve and impressive depth.

Detailed description – A blend with soul
Collection 243 is built around Louis Roederer’s Perpetual Reserve, begun in 2012 – a perpetual reserve that is continuously enriched with wines from new vintages. This method ensures continuity, complexity and a distinctive house style.

It also includes selected reserve wines aged in French oak barrels from the 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 vintages. The backbone of Collection 243 is the fresh and precise 2018 harvest, which contributes ripe fruit, structure and generosity. The combination creates a Champagne with impressive balance and ageing potential – but also plenty of enjoyment here and now.

Tasting notes
In the glass, the Champagne is clear and golden with fine, persistent bubbles. The aroma is intense and inviting with notes of pear, candied lemon, toasted brioche and almonds, complemented by subtle spicy nuances from the barrel aging.

On the palate, Collection 243 is both fresh and full-bodied. The vibrant acidity plays beautifully with citrus, ripe stone fruit and an elegant minerality. The finish is long, silky and complex with remarkable finesse.

The history of the house
Founded in 1833 in Reims, Louis Roederer is one of the few major champagne houses still family-owned today. From the beginning, the house has been known for its independence and uncompromising approach to quality.

Louis Roederer was among the first in Champagne to invest heavily in its own vineyards. Today, the house has more than 240 hectares, much of which is cultivated organically and biodynamically. Although the house is world-renowned for the iconic Cristal, the Collection series clearly shows that Roederer has mastered the art of creating Champagne with both depth and accessibility – true everyday luxury.
