12 years of aging – From Mauritius to French cognac barrels

The rum was distilled in 2014 on the west coast of Mauritius near Flic-en-Flac. It is made from molasses and distilled in a column still, resulting in an elegant and fruity rum style.

For the first 8 years, the rum aged in former bourbon barrels in Mauritius’ warm, tropical climate. Here, it developed its rich character with sweet fruit, vanilla, and spicy oak.

Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel then selected 24 casks, which were transported to France. There, the rum underwent an additional 4 years of aging in Ferrand Cognac casks.

This additional aging gives the rum a beautifully rounded character and adds depth to the exotic fruit notes. The result is a harmonious 12-year-old rum where sweetness, spices, and the elegance of the cask go hand in hand.

Tasting Notes – Exotic fruit, caramel, and warm spices

Aroma: An inviting and full-bodied aroma of ripe banana, passion fruit, and soft caramel. Subtle hints of vanilla, coconut, nutmeg, and sweet tobacco add extra complexity.

Taste: Round and intense with delicious notes of dried fruit, exotic guava, and sweet spices. Delicate floral nuances and a hint of rose petals lend the rum a special elegance.

Finish: Long and warm with candied orange peel, black tea, and freshly ground pepper. The mature oak character provides a beautiful and slightly dry finish.
