The 2016 vintage stands as one of the most classic and structured Vintage vintages in recent times. Production was significantly low – only around 40% of the volume of the legendary 2011 vintage – which makes this wine even more desirable. Tasting notes

The color is deep, almost opaque violet with a black core. The nose explodes with concentrated aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry and blueberry, accompanied by violet, licorice, dark chocolate and graphite.

In the mouth, it is full-bodied and intensely structured with silky but pronounced tannins. The fruit is dense and precise with a vibrant acidity that gives lift and energy. The light natural sweetness is perfectly balanced by the wine’s structure. The finish is extremely long, powerful and layered – a Vintage Port with huge ageing potential.

Serve it with strong blue cheeses, dark chocolate or store it in the cellar and watch it evolve over the next decades. The half-bottle makes it possible to follow the evolution of the wine over time.
