Va Piano Orange Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 – Walla Walla Valley, Washington

Va Piano Orange Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is classic Walla Walla Cabernet with power, depth and elegance. This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Washington State’s most recognized wine regions. A wine created with passion, precision and respect for terroir.

Va Piano Vineyards was founded in 2003 by Justin Wylie, who was born and raised in Walla Walla. The vineyards were literally in the backyard, and the passion began in the garage like so many other great stories in the world of wine. Today, Va Piano is a respected producer with a focus on quality and field expression.

The grapes for this wine come primarily from Va Piano Estate and Octave Vineyard. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 22 months in oak barrels, giving structure, complexity and great integration between fruit and barrel.

the 2017 vintage shows Walla Walla at its best. Ripe fruit, intense color and a balanced tannin structure make this Cabernet Sauvignon ideal for both the cellar and the dinner table.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense aromas of black cherry, sun-ripened plum and currant. Subtle notes of vanilla, maple and a hint of eucalyptus.

Flavor: Full-bodied and concentrated with dark fruit up front. Elegant cask character with vanilla and light spice. Firm but well-integrated tannin structure.

Finish: Long and harmonious with dark berries, spice and a nice, rounded finish.

About Va Piano Vineyards

Va Piano works with some of the best soils in the Walla Walla Valley. The eponymous Va Piano vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Approximately 70% of the grapes are used in their own production, while the rest is sold to recognized producers like L’Ecole No. 41.

The philosophy is simple: focus on the field, respect for the grape and precise vinification. The Orange Label series showcases the house’s ability to create structured, age-worthy wines with distinct regional character.
