Whiskey barrel made of American oak is the secret behind the balanced and soft island. Due to the Belgian yeast, the foam is nice, stable and develops in slow motion during pouring. This beer is a classic strong, roasted and well-balanced imperial stout.
Frederikshavh Bryghus Dark Quarterer is double-mashed and brewed with the best European malt and fermented on Belgian yeast. Dark Quarterer is then aged for over 6 months to develop a full flavor from the casks and remains of the whiskey that has been stored in it over the years.
Frederikshavn Bryghus has chosen to use Stauning Whiskey casks to give lovely flavor nuances of vanilla, bourbon and chocolate as well as a touch of tannins.
