The cheetah is a large feline inhabiting most of Africa and parts of Iran. It is the only extant member of the genus Acinonyx. The cheetah can run faster than any other land animal.
The word "cheetah" is derived from the Sanskrit worg citrakayah meaning "variegated", from the Hindi.

Highland Park history:

1798
David Robertson founds the distillery. The local smuggler and businessman Magnus Eunson previously operated and illicit whisky production on the site.

1816
John Robertson, an Excise Officer who arrested Magnus Eunson, takes over production.

1826
Highland Park obtains a license and the distillery takes over by Robert Borwick.

1895
James Grant (of Glenlivet Distillery) buys Highland Park

1898
James Grant expands capity from 2 to 4 distills.

1937
Highland Destilleries buys Highland Park
