A.H. Riise Royal Danish Navy Strength 55% is created to honor the historic and long-lasting relationship between the Danish Navy and A.H. Riise. It is said that spirits from Albert Heinrich Riise were delivered to naval vessels when they docked in the port of Charlotte Amalie on the island of St. Thomas in the former Danish West Indies. Here, Riise ran his pharmacy and developed his famous spirit blends, which quickly became popular among sailors and merchant travelers.

The Danish West Indies remained Danish until 1917, when the islands were sold to the USA. After the sale, the name was changed to U.S. Virgin Islands, but the story of A.H. Riise and the connection to seafaring lives on today through these distinctive bottlings.
