Santa Rufina Ubalinda Reserva 2020 – D.O. Cigales

Santa Rufina Ubalinda Reserva 2020 is an elegant and characterful Spanish red wine from D.O. Cigales, an area in Castilla y León that is increasingly attracting attention among wine lovers. It produces wines with depth, finesse and an impressive balance between fruit, structure and barrel aging. Ubalinda Reserva is an excellent example of this style – a wine with silky texture and great complexity.

In the glass, the wine is beautifully ruby red and inviting. The nose opens with ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by elegant spicy nuances from the barrel aging. The taste is harmonious and well-structured with soft tannins, a nice fruit concentration and subtle oak notes that give the wine depth without overpowering the fruit. The result is a wine with great elegance and a long, rounded finish.

Ubalinda Reserva 2020 is a wine that can be enjoyed now and develop further complexity with a little ageing. It’s a great match for classic red meat dishes, white meat, game or mature cheeses, where the structure and richness of the wine really comes into its own.

Serve the wine at around 18-20°C to get the full expression of its aromas and complexity.

The history of the house

Bodegas Santa Rufina is located in Cubillas de Santa Marta in the heart of D.O. Cigales and is a family-owned winery founded in 1997. The winery has more than 90 hectares of vineyards surrounding the winery itself, which allows the grapes to be transported quickly from field to cellar, maintaining freshness and quality. The soil is mainly sand, limestone and white clay, which together with a continental climate and large temperature differences between day and night provide optimal conditions for growing grapes with great concentration and character.
