Bertani Ripasso Valpolicella 2021 – Elegance from the Heart of Valpolicella

Discover one of Italy’s most elegant Ripasso wines with the Bertani Ripasso Valpolicella 2021. Here, you get a wine that combines depth, finesse, and a velvety-smooth texture, perfect for both everyday dinners and special occasions. With this Ripasso, Bertani once again demonstrates why the house is one of Valpolicella’s most iconic.

This Ripasso is made from the Corvina grape, and the wine’s character gains its special strength from the classic Ripasso method, where the wine is allowed to mature on the dried grapes from Amarone production. The result is a wine with elegant fullness, ripe fruit, and a subtle spicy edge, making it incredibly versatile.

Tasting Notes

  • Aroma: Intense notes of cherries, dark berries, lightly spiced with hints of chocolate and tobacco.

  • Taste: Soft and round, with ripe cherries, plums, and a subtle minerality. The tannins are elegant and well-integrated, with a long, lingering finish.

  • Serving: Perfect with Italian charcuterie, risotto, pasta with rich sauces, grilled meats, or aged cheeses.

  • Temperature: Serve at 16–18°C for the optimal experience.

Why Choose Bertani Ripasso?

This wine represents the elegant side of Valpolicella, far from the heavy and overly sweet Amarones often found in supermarkets. Bertani Ripasso is authentic, handcrafted, and highlights the unique terroir of Valpantena, just outside Verona.

The House’s History

Bertani has a proud winemaking tradition dating back to 1857, when brothers Gaetano and Giovan Bertani founded the estate in Valpantena, Valpolicella. Gaetano had previously studied with the best winemakers in Burgundy and brought elegant, dry Italian winemaking back to Veneto.

For more than 150 years, Bertani has been known for creating wines with extraordinary longevity, elegance, and finesse, where the grapes are still dried manually on bamboo racks—without air conditioning or artificial control. The house has supplied wines to royalty across Europe, and today it continues to operate with the same respect for tradition, while offering modern wine lovers authentic and vibrant tasting experiences.
