Only the most suitable grapes, primarily Sémillon with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc, are selected through several selective harvests where noble rot (Botrytis) has concentrated flavors and sugars. The result is a wine with a deep golden color and impressive complexity. After fermentation, the wine is aged in new oak barrels, adding structure, finesse and layer upon layer of aroma.

Tasting notes

Extremely complex and intense with notes of dried apricot, peach and tropical fruits. There are hints of honey, orange peel, caramel and roasted nuts, as well as elegant hints of vanilla and spices from the cask. The palate is full-bodied, silky and perfectly balanced with fresh acidity and a very long, lingering finish.

Château d’Yquem is the only château in Bordeaux classified as Premier Cru Supérieur in the 1855 classification. Under the leadership of the Lur-Saluces family, the château’s reputation as the world’s leading producer of Sauternes was cemented.
