Château Nénin Pomerol 1993 – Mature Pomerol with classic Bordeaux elegance

Château Nénin is a true wine experience for connoisseurs of classic Bordeaux. Here you get a beautifully matured Pomerol where time, terroir and tradition have merged into a wine with depth, finesse and a harmonious calm that only older top wines can deliver.

The 1993 vintage shows Pomerol from its elegant side. A wine that doesn’t shout, but whispers – with complexity, rounded tannins and a sophisticated expression. Perfect for those looking for mature Bordeaux, Pomerol wine, Château Nénin 1993 and authentic French wine with history and soul.

The wine is made from a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which gives the characteristic Pomerol softness combined with structure and freshness. After more than three decades in bottle, Château Nénin 1993 has developed a beautiful balance of fruit, tertiary notes and silky texture.

Wine style and expression

Château Nénin is known for its elegant and slender Pomerol wines – less opulent than some of its neighbors, but extremely refined and age-worthy. Today, the 1993 vintage is harmonious, rounded and ready to enjoy, but still with life and depth in the glass.

This is a wine that pairs perfectly with classic dishes such as veal, lamb, game, mushroom-based dishes or mature cheeses – and of course for quiet moments when the wine is allowed to speak for itself.

Tasting notes

Color: Clear, deep ruby with a slight brick edge – a beautiful sign of maturity.

Aroma: Elegant bouquet of ripe cherries and plums, accompanied by notes of cedar, leather, tobacco and a hint of vanilla.

Palate: Soft and rounded with ripe red fruit, dried herbs and fine tertiary nuances. The tannins are silky and fully integrated.

Finish: Long, calm and persistent with classic Bordeaux character and elegant balance.

The history of the house

Château Nénin is a historic estate in Pomerol, located on the western plateau of the appellation. Dating back to the 1800s, the château has been known for generations for wines with structure, elegance and great ageing potential. In 1997, Château Nénin was taken over by the Delon family – also known for Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien. The family has since invested significantly in both the fields and the cellar, but always with deep respect for the classic style of the property.

Château Nénin 1993 is a fine testament to the house philosophy: balance over power, finesse over opulence – and wines that reward patience.
