Closson Chase Churchside Pinot Noir 2024 – Exclusive Canadian Red Wine

Closson Chase Churchside Pinot Noir 2024 is an impressive red wine from Prince Edward County in Canada. Here you’ll find a Pinot Noir in a class of its own, with intense fruit, silky-smooth elegance, and fantastic depth.

The wine combines dark cherries, juicy raspberries, and subtle spices with delicate notes of mocha and cedar. The beautiful balance between fruit, freshness, and elegant tannins makes this Pinot Noir a truly special wine experience.

Churchside Vineyard – Pinot Noir with Character

The grapes come exclusively from Churchside Vineyard, one of Closson Chase’s own vineyards in Prince Edward County. Here, the limestone-rich soil and cool climate provide optimal conditions for elegant Pinot Noir.

After harvest, the grapes are gently destemmed and undergo 3–5 days of cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in large French oak barrels.

The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new. This adds extra depth, structure, and subtle spicy notes without overpowering the fruit.

Only 316 cases were produced. An exclusive single-vineyard wine with excellent aging potential of 5–7 years or longer.

Tasting Notes – intense, elegant, and silky smooth

Aroma: Beautiful aromas of dark cherries, ripe raspberries, and cherry cola. Subtle hints of mocha, flowers, cedar, and forest floor add an exciting complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied and elegant with juicy red berries, silky-smooth tannins, and fresh, well-balanced acidity. Subtle oak spices add depth and a long, lingering finish.

Serving: Enjoy the wine at 14–16 degrees. It pairs excellently with duck breast, veal, mushroom risotto, and grilled beef. An ideal Pinot Noir for both fine dining and special occasions.

Closson Chase – Canadian winemaking since 1998

Closson Chase was founded in 1998 and was among the pioneers of quality wine in Prince Edward County on Lake Ontario.

The winery is known for its elegant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines, which draw inspiration from Burgundy’s proud winemaking traditions.

The first vines were planted in 1999. Today, Closson Chase is one of the region’s recognized wineries, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and respect for nature.

Under winemaker Keith Tyers, distinctive wines are crafted that allow the limestone-rich soil, the cool climate, and the grapes’ natural elegance to shine through.
