A time capsule for true whisky lovers

If you’re looking for a whisky that’s not just a collector’s item, but a piece of living Scottish history, Glenfarclas 70 Year Old Highland Single Malt is a masterpiece that rarely sees the light of day. This exceptional bottling is the culmination of more than seven decades of maturation – a whisky created for collectors, connoisseurs and those who want the very best of Speyside.

With us, you’ll find this one-of-a-kind bottle that few liquor stores in the world are allowed to present. With only 262 bottles worldwide, this is a release that is being searched, Googled and collected globally by enthusiasts, investors and connoisseurs.

A rare treasure born in 1953

Distilled on November 20, 1953 and overseen by six different distillery managers over time, this whisky has been at rest in the traditional dunnage warehouses – a constant, cool and dark world of wood, stone and history. It has been aged in premium sherry casks, shaping a flavor profile that can only be created with time, patience and craftsmanship.

This is a whisky that tells its own story. A whisky that, bottled after 70 years, represents something as rare as a true time machine of aroma, depth and character.

Why choose Glenfarclas 70 year old?

  • Extremely limited: Only 262 bottles globally

  • Unique origin: First-fill sherry casks from 1953

  • Craftsmanship and history: The Grant family has guarded these casks for generations

  • Perfect for collectors and investment: One of the oldest releases in Glenfarclas history

  • For whisky enthusiasts: A distillery that still uses direct fire under the boilers – a method almost no one else uses anymore

Tasting notes – Glenfarclas 70 years old

Color: Deep, polished teak with a beautiful glow – dark but still vibrant in the glass.

Nose: Soft and elegant with fine tannins. A nose of warm, stewed fruits and classic Scottish dumpling. A light, earthy smoke from Speyside peat gives a subtle smoky edge. Underneath it all are deeper layers of fruit compote, honeyed malt and ripe sweetness.

Flavor: Rich hints of dark chocolate and sherry-filled dried fruits. A pleasant spicy warmth spreads in the mouth, followed by strong, deep coffee and silky treacle toffee, creating a luxuriously rich texture.

Finish: Long, lingering and green at the edge – with a hint of Speyside peat that spreads gracefully over the tongue. A finish that stays with you long after the last drop.

The story of Glenfarclas – Speyside’s family jewel

Glenfarclas was officially licensed in 1836, and since 1865 the Grant family has been at the forefront of everything that happens at the distillery. This makes Glenfarclas the oldest family-owned distillery in Speyside.

They still go their own way here. The boilers are fired directly with gas flames – an age-old method that produces a stronger, more robust new make spirit. All whiskies are aged in traditional dunnage warehouses and every decision is still made by the family themselves.

As a result, Glenfarclas is known around the world for honesty, authenticity and a unique expression that cannot be duplicated. The 70-year-old release is not just a whisky – it’s a symbol of almost 200 years of dedication.
