History of the Caroni Distillery

The Caroni distillery in Trinidad was founded in 1918 and over the decades developed into one of the Caribbean’s most distinctive rum distilleries. The distillery mainly produced heavy rums that were used in blends but later achieved cult status among rum enthusiasts. Unfortunately, in 2002 the distillery was closed and the remaining casks have since achieved legendary status.
