Glenfarclas Family Casks 1999 #7518 – Millennium Cask

Here we have a true collector’s bottle and a piece of living whisky history. Distilled on the last day of the millennium itself, December 31, 1999, Glenfarclas Family Casks 1999 #7518 – Millennium Cask is a tribute to both time and craftsmanship. An exclusive single cask bottling from a classic sherry butt cask, bottled at natural cask strength and selected especially for Denmark.

With only 293 bottles in total, this is a rare opportunity to secure a whisky that combines history, quality and authenticity. A bottle that speaks directly to the passionate whisky lover and collector.

The whisky has spent over 22 years in sherry butt, giving it impressive depth, complexity and classic Glenfarclas character. No cold filtration and no added color – this is whisky in its purest and most honest form.

Tasting notes

Nose: Intense and inviting with deep notes of dark fruit, raisins, dates and dried figs. Classic sherry character with hints of walnut, dark chocolate, orange peel and warm spices.

Flavor: Rich and powerful with a silky smooth texture. Layer upon layer of sherry, caramel, burnt sugar, spice cake, cinnamon and a slight nutty dryness. The alcohol is nicely integrated and gives structure without dominating.

Finish: Long, warm and complex with lingering notes of dried fruit, cocoa, oak and spice.

Family Casks – time capsules in liquid form

The Glenfarclas Family Casks range is known and loved by whisky enthusiasts around the world. Each bottling represents a single cask and a single year – a unique snapshot of the distillery’s evolution. The series is always bottled at cask strength and without cold filtration to preserve maximum aroma and depth of flavor.

About the history of Glenfarclas

Glenfarclas is one of the few remaining family-owned distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1836, the distillery has been owned by the Grant family since 1865, when John Grant bought the distillery along with Recherlich Farm for £511. Today, Glenfarclas continues to be run by the family through six generations, with an uncompromising focus on tradition, quality and slow distillation in direct fired copper pot stills.

The result is some of the world’s most respected sherry-aged single malt whiskies – and the Family Casks range is the crown jewel of the portfolio.
