This exclusive single malt was distilled in 1976 and matured in carefully selected sherry casks for a full 40 years. The result is a Speyside Single Malt with a rare depth, elegance and complexity that only decades of slow maturation can create. The bottling marks a tribute to the 6th generation of the Grant family and also celebrates Sales Director George S. Grant’s 40th anniversary with Glenfarclas.

Only 1,500 bottles of this final edition have been produced, making it a highly sought-after bottle among collectors worldwide. The series began with the iconic 1966 Fino Cask, honoring John Grant, the family ancestor and the man who bought the distillery in 1865. The 1976 Sherry Cask VI ties the story together and closes a unique chapter.

Tasting notes

Nose: Rich and enticing aromas of dried fruits, dark chocolate and sweet spices. Subtle nuances of nuts, leather and old oak add depth and elegance.

Flavor: Silky and complex. Classic sherry body with caramelized sugar, toasted almonds and cinnamon, balanced by orange peel, dried fruit and finely integrated oak.

Finish: Long and sophisticated with dark fruit, gentle spices and a rounding sweetness of vanilla that lingers.

The history of the house

Glenfarclas was founded in 1836 and has been owned and run by the Grant family since 1865. Today, Glenfarclas is one of the very few distilleries in Scotland that remains 100% family owned – renowned for its independence, traditional pot still distilling and uncompromising use of sherry casks.
