Distilled in 2010 at Hampden Distillery and bottled in 2022 after 12 years of full tropical maturation in Jamaica, this edition delivers maximum concentration and complexity. Only 243 bottles are bottled from cask #79, making it a rare gem in the Rare Cask Series.

The HLCF (Hampden Light Continental Flavoured) brand is known for its high ester content and explosive aromatics. At 62.8%, the rum is at natural cask strength, unadulterated and uncompromised – just as true Jamaican pot still rum should be.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense and complex with overripe pineapple, banana, orange peel, fermented notes, glue, lacquer and classic Jamaican funk.

Flavor: Powerful and oily with concentrated tropical fruit, citrus, spice, light smoke and a distinctive ester profile. The alcohol is potent but nicely integrated into the massive structure.

Finish: Extremely long and persistent with dried fruit, pepper, oak and lingering aromatic intensity.

History of the house

Hampden Distillery in Trelawny is one of Jamaica’s most iconic producers and has been making pot still rum since 1753. The distillery still uses open fermentation vessels, natural fermentation and traditional methods to create exceptionally high ester content and a unique flavor profile.
