Ihringer Weißer Burgunder QbA Trocken 2024 – crisp, creamy and elegant white wine from sunny Kaiserstuhl

Ihringer Weißer Burgunder QbA Trocken 2024 is a fresh and charming German white wine from the famous Kaiserstuhl region in Baden – one of the warmest and sunniest wine regions in Germany. Here, on the slopes of an ancient volcano, Weißer Burgunder is grown with an impressive balance of ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and elegant minerality.

The vineyards around Ihringen enjoy almost Mediterranean-like conditions with a climate that gives the grapes plenty of ripeness and aroma. The combination of volcanic lava soil, loess and clay gives the wine both depth and finesse, while the cool nights preserve the freshness and elegant structure that makes Weißer Burgunder from Kaiserstuhl so sought after by wine lovers.

Already in the glass, the wine impresses with its pale greenish yellow color and fresh expression. The bouquet is intense and inviting with notes of ripe pear, lime, green apples and an elegant citrus touch. The palate is creamy and vibrant with fine yeast notes, delicate tannins and a nice balance between fresh fruit and soft body. Nuances of juicy pear, apple and a hint of citrus continue long into the elegant and persistent finish.

It’s a white wine that is both easy-drinking and complex at the same time – perfect for cozy summer evenings, fish dishes, seafood, salads or creamy pasta dishes.

Tasting notes

The aroma offers ripe pear, lime, green apple and fresh citrus notes. The taste is elegant and creamy with fine yeast aromas, soft fruitiness and a vibrant acidity that gives the wine freshness and energy. The aftertaste is long, stable and harmonious with beautiful mineral notes.

The history of the house

Kaiserstuhl Winegrowers’ Cooperative Ihringen eG is one of the most traditional and recognized cooperatives in Baden. Its history is characterized by unity, passion and hard work over generations. From challenging times of war and economic uncertainty to modern success, the winegrowers of Ihringen have stood shoulder to shoulder to preserve the proud wine traditions of the region.

Over the years, the cooperative has been among the pioneers of German wine production and has constantly evolved without letting go of traditional craftsmanship. Even with modern technology in the cellar, the work in the vineyards is still characterized by respect for nature, the terroir and the unique identity of the area.

Kaiserstuhl is considered by many to be a true wine paradise. The steep vineyards around Ihringen lie on remnants of ancient volcanic soil and are among the sunniest places in Germany. The warm climate produces wines with ripe fruit, richness and aromatic intensity, while the soil adds finesse and minerality.

Burgundy grapes such as Weißer Burgunder and Spätburgunder have made Ihringen famous far beyond Germany’s borders. They produce wines with elegance, freshness and a character that clearly reflects the special terroir of the Kaiserstuhl.
