L’Ecole No 41 Ferguson Vineyard 2018 – iconic Bordeaux blend from Walla Walla Valley

L’Ecole No 41 Ferguson Vineyard 2018 is a serious, terroir-driven red wine from Walla Walla Valley, Washington State. This field wine is a flagship in the house portfolio and shows why the area is now considered one of America’s most exciting wine regions for Bordeaux-inspired blends.

Ferguson Vineyard 2018 is composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 5% Petite Verdot. The combination produces a wine with structure, complexity and ageing potential – where power and elegance go hand in hand.

Walla Walla Valley is a smaller enclave within the larger Columbia Valley AVA in eastern Washington. The area offers many hours of sunshine – up to an hour more sunshine per day than Napa Valley – and a dry climate with little rainfall. At the same time, cool mountain air from the Blue Mountains ensures significant temperature differences between day and night. The result is optimally ripe grapes with preserved acidity and great structure – a perfect balance between intensity and freshness.

the 2018 vintage is concentrated, precise and layered. A wine for the collector – or for those who want a serious American Bordeaux blend with both character and finesse. Ideal with beef, lamb, game and spicy dishes.
