Mosgaard 7 years Single Malt “7 Sisters” Oloroso is the second release in the exclusive 7 Sisters series and bottled in just 200 bottles. A true collector’s whisky – but above all an intense taste experience that deserves to be savored.

This bottling is made for the whisky enthusiast looking for depth, power and complexity. Bottled at full cask strength of 59.2% and without the addition of water, the whisky appears raw, concentrated and vibrant – just the way Mosgaard Whisky wants it.

The whisky has been aged since 2017 in specially selected 140 liter casks, hand-built from 30-40 year old Oloroso sherry casks. This is a marked departure from Mosgaard’s more famous quarter cask maturation and provides a slower maturation with greater depth and layered complexity. First matured in Mosgaard’s original barrel warehouse in South Funen and later moved with the distillery to Kolding in 2025 – this whisky has simply been along for the ride.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Intense and inviting with dark fruit, vinous depth and a distinct Oloroso character. Notes of plum, dried fruit, citrus and spice slowly unfold in the glass.

Flavor: Powerful and complex with an almost balsamic-like concentration. Rich fruit notes of plum, peach, apple and citrus are balanced by a distinctive malt sweetness and a fine mineral nerve.

Spice: Elegantly spicy with nuances of clove, cinnamon and exotic pepper.

Finish: Long, warm and lingering with sweetness, fruit and a slightly vinous character that lingers.

The first whiskies saw the light of day in 2019, with Oloroso sherry casks quickly becoming an important part of the house style. With the move to Kolding in 2025, the distillery took the next step in its development, but the soul remains intact: softness, fruit richness and malt sweetness in harmonious balance. “7 Sisters” is a clear proof of Mosgaard’s international potential.
