The story behind PlumpJack Estate Winery

The story of PlumpJack began in 1992 with a small wine shop in the Fillmore neighborhood of San Francisco. The store was founded by Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty with the ambition to create a place where people could experience and learn about wine in a relaxed atmosphere.

In 1997, the PlumpJack Group founded their own winery after purchasing a historic vineyard on Oakville Cross Road in Napa Valley. The vineyard spans about 21 acres and produces wines with a focus on quality and terroir.

PlumpJack also became known as the first winery in Napa Valley to use screw caps on fine wines. Together with sister wineries Cade Estate Winery and Odette Estate Winery, PlumpJack today works with a focus on sustainable agriculture and respect for nature.
