Prunotto Barolo Bussia 2019 – Great Nebbiolo from iconic Monforte d’Alba

Prunotto Barolo Bussia 2019 is classic Piedmont in its most elegant and powerful form. This is a prestigious Barolo from the famous Bussia estate in Monforte d’Alba – one of the area’s most recognized terroirs. Made from 100% Nebbiolo and today produced by the traditional Prunotto house under the ownership of the Antinori family, this is a wine for the serious wine lover.

Bussia is known for its southwest-facing slopes and complex soils, which produce wines with structure, finesse and ageing potential. The 2019 vintage delivers just that: concentration, balance and aromatic depth in beautiful harmony.

The grapes are hand-harvested with low yields for maximum quality. After traditional fermentation and maceration, the wine is aged in oak to develop structure and complexity. The result is a Barolo with classic character, ripe tannins and great development potential.

Vintage 2019 – Concentration and finesse

2019 was a challenging vintage during the growing season, but it resulted in grapes with low yields and high concentration. The harvest in mid-October ensured perfectly ripe Nebbiolo with great acidity and aromatic precision. The result is a Barolo with both power and elegance.

Tasting notes

Color: Intense ruby red with garnet hues.

Aroma: Inviting aromas of red berries, dried roses, spices and forest floor.

Taste: Silky and complex with ripe tannins, deep fruit and a long, structured finish. A wine with both finesse and backbone.

Serving: Perfect with beef, game, braised dishes and aged cheeses. Decant one hour before serving. Can be enjoyed now, but will develop nicely over 10-15 years.

Prunotto and Antinori – Tradition and top quality

Prunotto has been producing wine in Alba since the early 1900s and has been synonymous with classic Piedmontese quality for generations. Today, the house is part of the Antinori family, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine families with roots dating back to 1385.

With respect for tradition and a focus on modern precision, Antinori has taken Prunotto to new heights. Barolo Bussia 2019 is a shining example of this – a wine that combines historical heritage with contemporary excellence.
