Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie – a champagne with soul, depth and history

Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie is a special champagne for those who seek more than just elegance in the glass. This is a cuvée with personality, gastronomic depth and a history that goes back centuries. This is champagne with character – created for enjoyment, contemplation and great taste experiences.

This exclusive champagne is a terroir-driven expression from Taittinger’s own vineyards around the historic Château de la Marquetterie. Here they work with uncompromising respect for nature, parcels and craftsmanship. Each vineyard is vinified separately and selected crus are partially matured in oak barrels to add structure, warmth and complexity.

After more than five years of bottle aging, Les Folies de la Marquetterie emerges with a beautiful, deep golden color and fine, elegant bubbles. The result is an intense, harmonious and highly food-friendly champagne that elevates gastronomic moments to new heights.

Tasting notes

Bouquet: Intense and fruity nose with notes of ripe peach and apricot jam. Elegantly rounded by hints of vanilla, lightly toasted brioche and discreet cask notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and silky mouthfeel with dominant peach flavors. Subtle wood notes add depth and structure, while the finish is long, warm and expressive.

Serving: An excellent gastronomic champagne – ideal with roast poultry, grilled fish with butter-based sauces or a creamy risotto with mushrooms.

The story of Maison Taittinger and La Marquetterie

Maison Taittinger is one of the few remaining family-owned champagne houses and is based in the heart of Reims. The house rests atop the historic Gallo-Roman chalk cellars, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, the champagnes mature in perfect conditions and develop the finesse and elegance that Taittinger is known for worldwide.

Château de la Marquetterie plays a central role in the history of the house. Over the years, the château has been home to the writer Jacques Cazotte, a gathering place for Enlightenment thinkers and later headquarters during the First World War. It was here that the Taittinger family’s champagne adventure began – and Les Folies de la Marquetterie is a tribute to this place, its terroir and its soul.
