Today, it stands as one of the rarest and most valuable Ports ever released from Taylor’s historic cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.

This is a very limited batch – created from some of the house’s most priceless reserves that have rested in handmade oak barrels since the late 19th century. Only the finest and most well-preserved barrels have been selected for this Limited Edition, with every drop bearing the mark of a century of slow maturation.

A Vintage from the Age of Reconstruction

1896 was one of the great years of the 19th century, marking an era following the replanting of the Douro vineyards that had been ravaged by phylloxera. This vintage was the beginning of a new glory and resurgence for the region – and this particular wine is a monument to that time.
