Taylor’s Quinta de Terra Feita Vintage Port 2005 – Single Quinta port from Douro

Taylor’s Quinta de Terra Feita Vintage Port 2005 is a classic vintage port from one of the Douro Valley’s most prestigious port houses. Taylor’s is known for port wines with great elegance, intense fruit and an impressive ageability. This port is an excellent example of the house style.

It comes from Quinta de Terra Feita, a beautiful vineyard with a spectacular location on the slopes of the Pinhão Valley in the Douro. Here the grapes are grown on steep terraces where warm days and cool nights create ideal conditions for ripe and concentrated grapes.

In years when Taylor’s declares a classic vintage port, the wines from Terra Feita are often included in the house’s famous blend. In other years, the best barrels from the estate are selected for a special bottling as “Single Quinta Vintage Port”. This results in a port that clearly reflects the character and terroir of the vineyard.

The grapes for this port were harvested in 2005 and the wine was bottled in 2007. As a true vintage port, it is designed to develop in the bottle over many years. Over time, it will gain even greater complexity, depth and elegance.
