Taylor’s Vintage 1997 – 37,5 cl. Vintage Port in absolute top class

Taylor’s Vintage 1997 is an iconic Vintage Port from one of the most recognized port houses in the Douro. This 37.5 cl. half-bottle is greatness in concentrated form – a port with impressive depth, structure and ageing potential. A true classic for collectors and connoisseurs who want a mature Vintage Port in the perfect serving size.

The color is a beautiful deep purple, almost black, testifying to the wine’s power and concentration. The aroma is intense and complex with dark fruit and an elegant hint of cedar. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, yet elegant and harmoniously balanced – a Port with both muscle and finesse.

Taylor’s Vintage 1997 is a well-structured port with plenty of backbone and tannin, making it ideal for dark chocolate desserts, strong cheeses or as a meditative glass after a good meal. It combines strength and elegance in the finest way and delivers a long, persistent and silky smooth finish.

Vintage Port is generally considered ready to drink after 4-5 years, but develops its full potential after 15-20 years of aging. Due to the natural sediment, the bottle should be left upright for a minimum of 48 hours before opening to allow the sediment to collect at the bottom. Careful decanting is then recommended. The port should be served 2-3 hours after decanting and enjoyed within 24 hours of opening.
