The year 2000 marked the dawn of a new millennium with exceptional quality in the Douro, and Taylor’s delivered a Vintage Port with tremendous concentration, structure and ageing potential.

Vintage 2000 – Intensity and depth

The grapes were harvested in 2000 and aged for approximately 2 years in oak casks before bottling, following classic Taylor’s tradition. Only the most concentrated and promising wines are selected to be declared as Vintage Port, and the 2000 vintage stands out with monumental power and precision.

The wine is massive in structure, yet beautifully balanced with vibrant acidity and well-integrated tannins – a Port built to evolve over many decades.

• Colour: Deep blue/purple with an almost black core.
• Nose: Blackberry, blackcurrant and dark cherry with hints of graphite and spice.
• Palate: Extremely full-bodied with dense dark fruit, fine sweetness and a powerful tannic structure.
• Finish: Long, intense and complex with lingering fruit and minerality.
