Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri Toscana 2021 is an elegant and characterful red wine from the prestigious Bolgheri area in Tuscany. Created by the Antinori family, it is a modern interpretation of Bolgheri’s unique terroir. The combination of international grape varieties and the unique coastal climate produces a wine with depth, structure and a beautiful aromatic complexity.

Il Bruciato was first produced in 2002 during a challenging vintage for Tenuta Guado al Tasso. Since then, it has become one of the most popular Bolgheri wines in the area. It is made from a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, which together create a harmonious and full-bodied wine with a great balance of fruit, structure and spice.

Bolgheri’s soil is very varied and consists of sand, clay and rocky deposits. This geological diversity contributes to the structure and complexity of the wine. At the same time, the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea provides a mild climate with cool sea breezes that help the grapes ripen slowly and maintain their freshness.

The 2021 vintage was characterized by a long dry spell from June to September. However, the rainy winter had replenished the soil’s water reserves. This allowed the vines to develop in stable conditions throughout the growing season. Spring was cool and slightly delayed budding and flowering. The summer brought moderate temperatures, which allowed for slow and optimal ripening of the grapes. The harvest began with Merlot in early September, followed by Cabernet Franc and Syrah in the middle of the month. Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot were harvested in late September.

The result is a Bolgheri wine with great concentration, ripe fruit and elegant structure. Il Bruciato is a versatile wine that pairs perfectly with grilled meat dishes, pasta with rich sauces, game or mature cheeses.
