A classic white Burgundy from the heart of Savigny-Lès-Beaune – made on old vines and with a precision that clearly shows why the area is among the most coveted in Côte de Beaune. This 2019 1er Cru “Les Rouvrettes” from Domaine Philippe Girard is an elegant and terroir-driven Chardonnay that combines finesse, minerality and great barrel balance.

The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay from approximately 40-year-old vines, giving concentration, depth and natural complexity. It is aged 8-10 months in oak barrels, a third of which are new. This provides structure, subtle spice and a fine integration of barrel without overpowering the pure expression of the fruit. The result is a harmonious and characterful Premier Cru Bourgogne that can be enjoyed now and develop beautifully in the cellar.

In the glass, the wine has a light golden color and fine greenish hints – a classic sign of freshness and youthful energy. It is a white Burgundy with both elegance and nerve, ideal for gastronomy such as fried fish, shellfish, light poultry or creamy dishes.

Aroma: Fresh and clean nose with notes of citrus fruit, white flowers and a subtle hint of cask. A classic mineral undertone that testifies to the Premier Cru origins of Savigny-Lès-Beaune.

Palate: Structured and precise with a nice, well-defined acidity. Citrus, green apples and a light creamy texture from the barrel ageing. Balanced, elegant and with a mineral, persistent finish.
