This rum comes from Jamaica. It´s from Long Pond Distillery. The rums from this distillery are not all heavy spirit overloaded with esters, the distillery can also produce ´lighter rum´, which have the most amazing aromatic richness, due to a very specific type of fermentation and distillation.

This rum is from Diamond distillery in Guyana in South America, and was distilled in 2001, which is the same year as Volbeat's first songs came to Denmark. This rum has been on American oak barrels for 20 years, and a total of 2400 bottles have been made. Originally, this rum should have been released in 2021, for the official year of the anniversary of Volbeat, but here they were challenged like many others with glass challenges, and supply challenges like the rest of the world.

Plantation Rum Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel singles out distinctive rum expressions based on local heritage and production methods. For this one-time limited edition of Plantation´s Four hands program, he highlighted Peru´s rich rum terroir and collaborated with Master Blender Jorge Rodriguez Parajes at Cartavio Rum Company to select the finest casks.

Togheter, they bring this unique product from the Chicama Valley, in Peru. In Platation´s Rum´s signature double-ageing technique, the rum then travelled by sea to the southwest of France where it was matured in French oak barrels.

The gourmet flavours of this Peru 2006 highlight the formidable blending of multiple vacuum column stills rum coupled with John Dore Pot Still distillate, for a complex yet authentic expression from the land of abundance.

This rum has been distilled at Trinidad Distillers Limited. It is distilled in a multi-column continuous distillation. Trinidad Distillers Limited was founded back in 1949. They use sugarcane molasses are the source for their fermentations. Besides that, the cultivate their own yeast strain, which ads the distinctive flavor notes to the rum. The year 1991 is known as one of the best vintages of Trinidads rums.

For more than 20 years, Plantation Rum Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel has explored the world of rum and its diverse terroirs to find treasures made with traditional production methods. For this one-time limited edition, he travelled across the globe to Guyana, where he hand-picked just 21 casks frim Demerara Distillers Limited.

In Plantation Rum´s signature double-ageing technique, this unique expression aged 13 years in Guyana, than shipped by sea to the south-west of France, where it matured another two years in French oak Ferrand casks.

This Guyana 2007 masterfully combines the exuberance of the unique Port Mourant double wooden-pot-still with the elegance of a copper column still, resulting in a heavy, deeply structured rum showcasing dark chocolate and earthy notes.

The story behind the rum
Distillation: Distilled in 1991 on the Port Mourant pot still, which has been producing rum since 1732 and is known for adding unique flavor notes through its iconic wooden design.
Origin: Distilled at the Uitvlugt distillery, which closed in 1999. After the closure, the historic pot still was moved to the Diamond distillery, where it is still active.
Aging: This rum has spent 32 years in a former malt whiskey cask, giving it an extra dimension of complexity and a rich aromatic profile.
Tasting notes
Aroma: Notes of dried fruit, caramel, oak and spices, with subtle hints of smoke and vanilla.
Taste: A deep and complex body with layers of tropical fruits, dark chocolate and a spicy warmth, which is complemented by the malt character

In Plantation Rum´s signature double-ageing technique, this unique expression is aged 8 years in Barbados, then shipped by sea to the south-west of France, where it maturedanother year in French oak Ferrand casks.

Staying true to the island traditional blenmding technique, this Barbados 2013 combines rum distilled in both column and the venerable Gregg pot still, dating back til the 19th century, for a mellow yet complex expression.

We have selected only the finest of our reserves, carefully matured in American oak cask, and have finished them to 15 years in sherry, cognac and port casks.

The naming of wach product is deliberate - with each reflecting not only the character of the finishing wood, but also the places that inspired us to create them. Napoleon for Cognac and France, Oloroso for sherry and Spain, and Tawny for port and Portugal.
