For more than 20 years, Plantation Rum Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel has explored the world of rum and its diverse terroirs to find treasures made with traditional production methods. For this one-time limited edition, he travelled across the globe to Guyana, where he hand-picked just 21 casks frim Demerara Distillers Limited.
In Plantation Rum´s signature double-ageing technique, this unique expression aged 13 years in Guyana, than shipped by sea to the south-west of France, where it matured another two years in French oak Ferrand casks.
This Guyana 2007 masterfully combines the exuberance of the unique Port Mourant double wooden-pot-still with the elegance of a copper column still, resulting in a heavy, deeply structured rum showcasing dark chocolate and earthy notes.
