Pierre Ferrand Cognac
Sèlection des Anges

This cognac S.D.A. is an exceptional extra old Premier Cru de Cognac. An enlightened distiller, Elie Ferrand VIII walked his vineyards with his ever-present cane, following in the footsteps of his ancetors. We pay tribute to his legacy with this memoable cognac, which is sealed with an engraved stopper inspired by the pommel of Elie´s favorite cane; a talisman protecting the magic within.

During the decades that Ferrand Cognac matures in oak barrels it evaporates as the angels take their share of treasure within. With S.D.A. we choose from the oldest cognacs left in our barrels to create an exceptional Premier Cru de Cognac. For this reason, we have named it "Selection des Anges"

Tasting Notes – A complex and elegantly balanced experience
Lhéraud 1966 #162 Fin Bois is a cognac that captivates your senses with its exceptional balance and depth:
Nose: An alluring aroma of dried fruit, walnuts, and a hint of spices, gradually unfolding into nuances of honey and leather.

The history behind Lhéraud – Tradition and quality
The history of Lhéraud Cognac dates back to 1680, when Alexandre Lhéraud began cultivating the land in the town of Lasdoux, located near the Cognac region in Charente. Over the centuries, the house’s methods have been passed down, and today it is only Guy Lhéraud who uses the ancient, exclusive technique to craft their remarkable cognacs.
Lhéraud Cognac is not just “the water of life” – it is a symbol of craftsmanship, passion, and history that spans generations. The 1966 vintage is a perfect example of the house’s ability to create a cognac that both honors the past and looks forward to future tasting experiences.

The taste of this 150th anniversary Cognac is hard to compare with other Cognacs. The unique thing is that there are elements from both completely fresh distillate, as well as the very tertiary aromas from a very old Cognac. The result is that there is nice immediate pure citrus fruit, then there are elements of dried fruit like figs and apricots from the medium-aged distillates. At the end of the taste, the very old notes of cigar box, leather and wet tobacco develop. A blast of a taste experience that is hard to compare to anything else. To mark how unique this anniversary cognac is, only 1866 bottles have been produced for sale - a reference to Chateau Montifaud's first vintage, which was produced in the year 1866. A completely unique Cognac where Laurent Vallet shows his family great honor by putting together this unique blend. As far as is known, this is the first time that a Cognac of this type has been produced and it will probably also be the only time. Château Montifaud celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2016 and Laurent Vallet has chosen to combine Cognac from each of the 6 generations that have been at the castle. The house was founded in 1866 by Augustin Vallet, who was succeeded by Pierre, Maurice, Louis, Michel and now Laurent. Exactly this Cognac is combined with distillates from resp. 1847, 1870, 1998, 1967, 1990 and 2005. Each element is selected from the dishes in the "paradise" cellar at Montifaud, as well as from a few older bottles. Then mixed and tapped on 1866 numbered 50 cl. Bottles. A unique product that should be enjoyed with respect.

Very delicious and delicate Grande Champagne with notes of spring flowers, acid, jasmine, ripe fruit, banana, melon, dried fruit, raisins and walnut. Long finish with spicy notes and anise.

Jean Fillioux Cognac is a family-owned house, established in 1880. The house and its 25 hectares of vineyards are located in the best of the best area for brandy, namely Grande Champagne. La Poyade, the name of Jean Fillioux's residence, is located in the middle of the "Golden Triangle" between Verriéres, Angeac-Champagne and Juillac-Le Coq. Today, Pascal Fillioux, the fifth-generation descendant of its founder, Honoré Fillioux, is in charge of the production. Pascal is a god-pardoned master blender who is responsible for all production from harvesting the grapes to bottling the final brandy – from the house's young Le Coq to the very old Reserve Familiale Cognac. The style is stringy throughout: Floral, fruity, complex, elegant and powerful. When you taste a Jean Fillioux Cognac, there is no doubt that it is something special and, when you subsequently taste a bottling, there will clearly be a recognition joy. It was the Norwegian Masterblender of Brandy, Jon Bertelsen, who introduced us to Jean Fillioux Cognac. And Jon is by no means in doubt: Jean Fillioux Cognac is, in exceptional fact, the best he has ever tasted. This attitude, thank God, is Jon's not the only one to have, and Jean Fillioux Très Vieux has also been named by Decanter as the world's best brandy, as well as by the United States' leading spirits journalist, Paul Pacult, for the best brandy in the world for the award.

Tesseron Tresor is a Grande Champagne harvested in the late 1800s. Abel Tesseron was responsible for distillation and beginning the aging process for this brandy all those years ago, and the last years only continued to enrich this wonderful eaux-de-vie.

Several generations have kept a close eye on the spirit as limousin wooden casings conveyed their flavors, aromas and flavors - each housed in a 12th-century crypt. Today, this little piece of history is available to own and enjoy - in the form of Tesseron Tresor Cognac.

Presented in a stylish decanter and box, this is certainly one for lovers of fine brandy. An extraordinary XO, one to enjoy on special occasions.

Tesseron Cognac specializes in high-end Cognac, exclusively producing "XO and beyond" blends from their ancestral homes in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, located between Cognac and Angouleme. When founder Abel Tesseron, whose facial features on the company's logo acquired the property in the late 1800s, he patiently preserved his stock of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt, located deep beneath the domain, and sold his mature masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary among Cognac connoissees worldwide. However, it wasn't until 2003 that the fourth generation of Tesserons took the decision to release a series under their own name, armed with an unrivalled Cognac craft and fueled by the legacy left by their grandfather, the iconic brand Tesseron Cognac was born.

The Cognac Tesseron is without a discussion the ultimate Cognac house. Although the American "vinguru", Robert Parker, does not usually deal as much with spirits, he has so much fallen for the house products and not least Lot No 29, which he has given the rare but highly sought after 100 points! In fact, Lot is No 29, the only brandy, sociable liquor that has ever achieved these 100 points out of 100 points by Robert Parker. Tesseron Lot no 29 is the oldest and best dish from Tesseron, which reportedly has most very old brandy barrels in the industry. This is cognac that has aged over three generations in oak barrels and has slowly developed an amazing complexity. The grapes are Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche, harvested exclusively in the Premier Cru area of Grande Champagne.

Huge scent with layer upon layer to layer of honey, figs, plums and exotic fruit - yet so fresh and lively. The taste is very elegant and floral with notes of dried fruit, apricot jam, mocha and cocoa. Very full-bodied - must almost be enjoyed drunk with knife and fork!

100 POINTS by Robert Parker.
