Quinta de Roriz 2004 Vintage Port

Quinta de Roriz Vintage 2004 is a vintage port wine from one of the oldest estates in the Douro. Quinta de Roriz only makes port wine in the exceptionally good years, when the grapes show potential to be able to withstand many years of storage - because they only make port wine of the Vintage type. Vintage 2004 was not a year in which very many houses produced vintage wines, but Quinta de Roriz and a handful of other producers have gotten miraculous wines out of this cool vintage. Color: Dark purple - almost black. Aroma: Solid aroma of raspberries, blackberries, chocolate and licorice. Taste notes: Dense and creamy, still with tannin that suggests a long life yet. Blueberries, cherries, raspberries and oak smoke. Serving suggestions: Enjoy it slightly chilled. Can kind of lie in the basement a little more. Quinta de Roriz is a collaboration between Symington Family Estate and Prats Family. They took over Quinta de Roriz in 2009, but the house has a long and luminous history before then. In fact, it is one of the oldest estates in the Douro at all! The only port wine they make here is Vintage, but they also have success with great table wines. The style of the wines is full-bodied and concentrated, with many layers of complexity and elegance
